VALLEY SHONE: WHEN DRY BONES COME TO LIFE

Ezekiel 37:1–14 tells the story of a vision God gave to the prophet Ezekiel. In this vision, he saw a valley full of dry bones—lifeless, scattered, hopeless. God then asked Ezekiel,

“Can these bones live?”

And the prophet wisely responded,

“Sovereign Lord, you alone know.”

🦴 DRY BONES ARE PEOPLE WITHOUT GOD

These dry bones are more than a picture of physical death. They represent human beings without God—spiritually dead. A person may be breathing, walking, working—but without the Spirit of God, they are like dry bones: no life, no power, no purpose.

This is how many souls are today. Some are surrounded by religion but still dry inside. Some are chasing success but spiritually starved. Dry bones.

🗣️ THE WORD OF GOD IS THE BREATH OF LIFE

God told Ezekiel to prophesy to the bones. As he did, the bones began to come together, flesh appeared, and then breath entered them—and they stood up as a vast army.

That breath represents the Word and Spirit of God.
The same breath that breathed life into Adam (Genesis 2:7) is the same breath that can revive you today.

“The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life.” – John 6:63

🌟 YOUR SITUATION MAY FEEL DEAD—BUT SPEAK TO IT

We all walk through valleys in life—dry, dark, painful places.
Maybe it's your finances, your health, your peace, or your family.
But hear this: dead doesn’t mean done.

You need to speak the Word of God into your situation.
Let God’s Word breathe life where there's been decay.
This is the moment when your valley shone—when light and life came into what looked hopeless.

🔦 THE WORD BRINGS LIGHT AND LIFE

The Bible is clear that God's Word brings life and light:

  • “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” – Psalm 119:105

  • “The entrance of Your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.” – Psalm 119:130

  • “For the word of God is alive and active…” – Hebrews 4:12

🙏 PRAYER

Lord, breathe life into every dry area in my life. Let Your Word restore what’s broken, revive what’s dead, and shine light in every valley I walk through. In Jesus’ name, amen.
